A type of pole bean, sometimes called “Asparagus Bean,” Orient Wonder is popular in warm and humid areas. Its flavors are unlike snap beans and are especially good when stewed with other vegetables. Orient Wonder is interesting for specialty and ethnic markets and far superior to standard strains of yard long bean.
USES and REMARKS: Rich green colored beans are slenter and long, from 15 to 18 inches (38-48 cm). Seeds are slow to develop so pods stay smooth. Thrives in heat but sets better in cool or drier weather than similar varieties. |
